I teach Yin yoga, and I attend a lot of Vinyasa classes. I don't sweat profusely in my Vinyasa classes, but it's enough that my hands and feet start to slide in certain positions like down dog. This towel is amazing! It keeps me in position even though I'm not sweating a lot. Based on some of the reviews, I'd been concerned that it wouldn't work unless I was super sweaty, but this hasn't been the case. It doesn't bunch up on me, and it really helps with the slipping. I actually keep it on my mat during my Yin classes, because I love the way it feels. It's a few inches longer than my Gaiam mat, and that's great since it gives me a little bit more room to stretch out but still keep my hair from touching the floor. It seems to keep the mat cooler and more comfortable. I had looked into getting one of the Manduka nonskid mats but didn't want to spend the money (also tried one out at my studio and didn't like the feel of it). I'm so glad I went with this instead! It's hands-down one of the best yoga purchases I've ever made in my 25+ years of practicing. I hope you love it as much as I do!Works good if you wet it down prior to use. Friends have the ‘typical’ towel with silicon dots that might work better. I was thinking I might use this as a travel towel and light yoga mat, it is the same material as my camp towel, always looking for multi use optionsI've done some extremely sweaty hot yoga sessions with it, and haven't had any trouble with slipping on it. And it's nice and durable, showing no signs of wear after several runs through the washing machine. I always expect top quality from Manduka, and this towel is consistent with that.Note that this is a 72-inch yoga towel, which is great if you're tall and use an extra-long yoga mat. If you don't know how long your yoga mat is, it's probably 68 inches, so you can make do with a smaller towel.I get completely soaked during hot yoga and this towel doesn't lose grip at allThe first time I used this towel it initially didn't do a great job of preventing my hands and feet from slipping. However, after I got sweaty it did the trick.In general, it doesn't do a good job when it is dry. My advice would be to wet it with a spray bottle near the hands and feet area to get some traction before starting. Also, don't be like me and wash it with light colored clothes. The towel is a bit "inky" and will turn your favorite light shirt into a light blue shirt. Just a cautionary tale for the reader.After you wash the towel put in the dryer for a few minutes to dry up some of the moisture, but not all of it. Then hang the towel out to air dry. This will preserve the life of the towel. The dryer can dry it out to much it and it can lose its traction if you aren't careful.Hope this wells! :) Namaste!I was looking to upgrade my towel for hot yoga, & the Equa towel was a good deal on Amazon. You'll slip on it during practice if you don't sprinkle a little water on it when you get into the hot room. Once you start to sweat and move around, it works great and is pretty grippy. It is very lightweight and easy to wash. Love Manduka products!If you sweat a lot, a puddle will form beneath the mat, which will create fart-like sounds when you roll on your mat. Not helpful when everyone is in savasana...Works perfectly well with a Manduka Prolite Mat.I initially got the Manduka Prolite and could not use it because it did not have any traction as it needs to break in for a while.I was going to return it but then eventually got this mat towel and the two pair perfectly. I don't even need to spray water on the towel in the beginning as many folks do as I have naturally sweaty palms and feet. After a couple of weeks even the mat is behaving better and I can practice without slipping even without the towel. Now I need to use the towel only I build up a bit of sweat.The price point is high for the mat and the towel bu i you have a regular practice it will pay for itself over the long term.The towel itself covers the entire mat and does not move around during the practice, so it is not much of a distraction.This towel lacks rigidity during practice and can get wrinkled I would go for something thicker. Disappointed. Marketing hype. It’s just a micro towel no more no less.Incredible. Recomendada también para yoga normal si te sudan mucho las manos y te resbalas en tu tapete.Sticks to the mat as it should, everything is great, I recommend you enter the heated room 5-10 mins before class to allow the material to come in contact with the humidity which helps it stick more.
